Most onn TVs are Roku TVs. A phone reaches them without typing anything — as long as one switch in the TV's menu allows it.
An onn Roku TV is controlled from a phone over Wi-Fi with no pairing code. Install Remote for onn TV, join the phone to the same network as the television, and tap the set in the list the app finds — it connects at once. If the TV is missing or refuses, open Settings → System → Advanced system settings → External control → Control by mobile apps on the TV and set it to Enabled. onn is Walmart's house brand, and its model numbers are Walmart item codes — eight digits such as 100012584, 100012585 or 100012587 that say nothing about what runs inside. Most onn televisions sold so far are Roku TVs, which is the easy case for a phone: Roku lets a device on the same network connect without a code.
The catch is that Walmart has moved parts of the onn range to Google TV since 2024 without changing how the boxes look or how the model numbers read. Two onn sets that look identical on the shelf can need different connection steps. The badge under the screen and the boot logo are the reliable test: "onn. Roku TV" means this page applies; "onn. Google TV" means a one-time 6-digit code instead.
Walmart publishes no onn remote app of its own. Roku's official app covers the Roku models only, and Google's covers the Google TV devices only. Remote for onn TV handles both from one place, which is the practical difference in a home with an older onn Roku TV in one room and a newer onn streaming box in another.
